COVID-19: Kerala reports 3792 new cases on Saturday; 3418 cases through contact, 18 deaths

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 3792 COVID-19 cases on Saturday, Health Minister KK Shailaja said. Among these, 3418 persons developed the disease through contact including 236 cases without an identified source of infection. 112 persons who came from outside the state tested positive for the virus. 26 health workers contracted the disease on Saturday.

4650 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 50,514 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 18 deaths due to the virus on Saturday with the toll rising to 4182.

Pathanamthitta- 270

Thiruvananthapuram- 240

Kottayam- 236

Kannur- 173

Palakkad- 115

Wayanad- 82

Idukki- 71

In the last 24 hours, 73,710 samples have been tested. The test positivity rate stands at 5.14.

With the addition of 3 new regions and the removal of 4, there are 369 hotspots in the state.
