Move against KIIFB is in interests of Nirmala Sitharaman, alleges CM Vijayan, lodges complaint with ECI

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has said that the move by the Enforcement Directorate to file a case against KIIFB is in the political interest of Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. The CM said that the ED's move is a violation of the Election Code of Conduct and had lodged a complaint with the Election Commission.

In the letter, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan alleges that the Enforcement Directorate is summoning KIIFB officials in the political interest of Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, alleging that the Enforcement Directorate is violating the Model Code of Conduct. The Chief Minister also asked the Commission to take action against the investigating agencies for violating the Model Code of Conduct.

The ED had earlier given notice to the KIIFB CEO to appear on Friday.
