THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Thursday responded to media reports on the RSS-CPM peace talks mediated by Shri M. He said the talks were not a new thing and that it had taken place many years ago. The CM said that he considered M as a secular saint and that he had not acted in a sectarian manner. Claiming that peace talks had taken place in the 1980s in the wake of the political clashes with the RSS, the Chief Minister asked if it could be said that trying to avoid political clashes was indicative of any kind of political alliance.
In his statement, the CM also referred to a book written by Dinesh Narayan. He pointed out that it is not mentioned anywhere in the book 'The RSS, And the Making of the Deep Nation' that the talks were for political affiliation.
