THRISSUR: Actor, BJP MP and candidate in Thrissur Suresh Gopi described Sobha Surendran, the BJP candidate in Kazhakoottam, as 'Malikappuram' (goddess who is worshipped in a subsidiary shrine in Sabarimala) after submitting his nomination papers. According to Suresh Gopi, Sobha Surendran is the Malikappuram who came to Thiruvananthapuram to kill asuras (demons).

Suresh Gopi said that all temples will fall into the hands of believers and temple rule will not fall into the hands of 'dirty' politicians. Gopi says that legislation will be made for Sabarimala in the Parliament and the central leaders have already started working for it.

The MP arrived in a helicopter and submitted his nomination papers. The actor was also accompanied by a bike rally. Earlier, Suresh Gopi had said that he could not say for sure whether he would win the assembly elections. His statement was that no one can guarantee victory in any constituency.
