Mansoor murder case: Probe team changed, investigation handed over to Crime Branch

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The probe into the murder of Youth League activist Mansoor has been handed over to the Crime Branch. Kannur Crime Branch DySP Vikram is the new investigating officer. Crime Branch IG Gopesh Agarwal is in charge of supervision.

Meanwhile, two more people were taken into police custody on Saturday in connection with the case. The fourth accused Sreerag and the seventh accused Ashwanth were taken into police custody. They are being questioned. There are 11 identified accused, including Shanad, Ratheesh, Sangeeth, Sreerag, Sajeevan, Suhail, Ashwanth, Shashi, Sumesh, Jabir and Nazir and 14 unidentified accused in the case. All the accused are CPM DYFI activists. According to the FIR, the accused bombed with the intention of killing. The second accused Ratheesh was found hanging on Friday evening.
