Kerala records 5692 COVID-19 cases on Monday, 11 deaths, test positivity rate at 12.53

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 5692 COVID-19 cases on Monday, Health Minister KK Shailaja said. Among these, 5088 persons developed the disease through contact including 393 cases without an identified source of infection. 188 persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 23 health workers contracted the disease on Monday.

2474 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 47,596 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 11 deaths due to the virus on Monday with the toll rising to 4794.

In the last 24 hours, 45,417 samples have been tested. The test positivity rate stands at 12.53.

With the addition of 12 new regions, there are 403 hotspots in the state.
