Kerala records 37,190 COVID-19 cases on Tuesday; 57 deaths

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 37,190 COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said. Among these, 34,143 persons developed the disease through contact, including 2728 cases without an identified source of infection. 201 persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 118 health workers contracted the disease on Tuesday.

26,148 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 3,56,872 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 57 deaths due to the virus on Tuesday with the toll rising to 5507.

Idukki- 955

Kasargod- 673


1,42,588 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate stands at 26.08.


With the addition of 15 new regions, there are 699 hotspots in the state.
