ALAPPUZHA: The timely intervention of Rekha and Anandu saved the life of a Covid patient at Punnapra North Panchayat. The incident happened at Polytechnic Women's Hostel CFLTS in Punnapra around 10 am. The visuals of a seriously ill Covid patient being taken to a hospital on a bike was out in the morning.

Rekha and Anand came to give food to the patients. When they heard that a patient on the third floor is facing difficulties in breathing, they ran to his side. They immediately called the nearby hospital and asked them to send an ambulance. The hospital sources informed a delay of 10-15 minutes.

Without wasting time and with the help of others brought him down. They immediately wore the PPE kit and took him to the hospital on a bike. Their humanitarian intervention was without waiting for the ambulance and ignoring their own safety. They took him to the nearby cooperative hospital and later shifted him to the district hospital in ICU ambulance.
