Bengaluru gang rape: Rape victim traced in Kozhikode

BENGALURU: The Karnataka Police traced the Bangladeshi woman brutally tortured and sexually assaulted in Bengaluru from Kozhikode. The woman, brought to Bengaluru was subjected for a medical examination.

The victim was trafficked from Bangladesh. Police said the girl was sexually abused over some financial differences with one of the accused arrested. They were living in Bengaluru illegally.

One of the accused Sheikh, trafficked the girl from Bangladesh to Bengaluru promising them jobs in beauty saloons. She had worked in Hyderabad and Kozhikode. A dispute broke out later on money transactions. Following that, the woman was brought back to Bengaluru under the pretext of resolving the financial dispute. As she entered the house, he and the other accused got extremely violent, physically assaulted her, sexually abused and brutalised her and recorded the videos on their mobile phones.

They allegedly threatened to upload the clips on social media if she did not pay them. One such video was circulated in Bangladesh and some north-eastern states. The Bengaluru police arrested the accused following information from the Assam police.

The police had the other day arrested six Bangladeshi nationals including two women. Ridoy Babu (25), Sadar (23), Mohammad Babu Sheikh (30), Hakeel (23), Nusrat and Kajal were those arrested. The woman was sexually abused at their rented house in Ramamurthy Nagar in Bengaluru. The accused are in police custody. Ridoy Babu and Sadar, who were shot at in the leg when they allegedly tried to attack the police and tried to flee, are recovering at Bowring Hospital in Bengaluru.
