Lakshadweep administration denies entry nod to UDF MPs; will raise the issue in Parliament, says N K Premachandran

​​​​​KOCHI: In the wake of ongoing protests against the reforms of Lakshadweep’s administrator, the administrative authorities in the island have denied entry nod to UDF MPs who were heading to visit Lakshadweep.

The Lakshadweep administration had denied the travel nod to the MPs. The administration has denied nod to a delegation of UDF MPs which includes Benny Behnan, E T Muhammed Basheer, N K Premachandran, M K Raghavan and Hibi Eden. The MPs have approached the administration to seek the nod for travel in the islands on Monday.

N K Premachandran MP, who headed the delegation has said that denying nod even to elected MPs is anti-democratic and will raise the issue strongly before the parliament. They had sought permission from the collector via phone but the administration denied it.
