THRISSUR: More details on the Kodakara hawala deal is out. The probe team has received the crucial information that Dharmarajan has taken a total of Rs 9.80 crore to Thrissur and he gave Rs 6.30 crore to the party workers in Thrissur. The latest information from sources indicates that the theft happened when he was leaving the town with the remaining amount.
The theft of hawala money occurred on April 3. When Dharmarajan and his gang had reached Thrissur on April 8, they had with them Rs 9.80 crore. He gave Rs 6.30 crore to party workers in Thrissur and left the city with the remaining Rs 3.50 crore. Police have also received the information that he had earmarked Rs two crore alone for Thrissur.
Police have also received the information that the party itself has deputed hawala dealers to find the money for elections. The chief accused Dharmarajan had earlier engaged in similar hawala deals. Apart from the theft case, police are also investigating how the money was taken and from where it was transported to Kerala. Crucial information made its headway when police searched for answers to these questions.
