KANNUR: CPM gears up to celebrate the death anniversary of P K Kunhanandan, accused in TP Chandrasekharan murder case. The Panoor area committee has decided to conduct a virtual meet on Facebook to pay homage to the deceased leader on June 11. Kunhanandan who was CPM Panoor committee member, passed away while he was undergoing jail term for the Chandrasekharan murder case.
Even after the party repeatedly denying its links with the accused in the TP murder case, the party had maintained its warm ties with senior leaders like Kunhanandan who were convicted in the case, which stirred off a major controversy later. The party’s claims of having no links with the murder plot were not well received in public space due to the party leaders’ amity with Kunhanandan. When Kunhanandan dies, even the chief minister has expressed condolences.
Kunhanandan was sent behind bars in 2014 January after the court convicted him guilty in the TP Cjhandrasekharan murder case. He was sentenced to life imprisonment on the charges of conspiracy and murder bid. CPM rebel and RMP leader T P Chandrasekharan was killed at Vallikottu near Vadakkara on May 4th, 2012
