THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition leader VD Satheesan on Tuesday congratulated K Sudhakaran on getting elected as KPCC president. After visiting Sudhakaran, Satheesan said that he welcomes the High Command's decision and that the party was bigger than the group. Satheesan also said that generational change does not necessarily mean completely excluding veteran leaders.

"Sudhakaran's appointment will motivate Congress workers and the believers of democracy in Kerala. Congress will stage a strong comeback in the stat," Satheesan said. He also congratulated the newly elected working presidents.

Meanwhile, Congress Working Committee member AK Antony welcomed the decision of the High Command to appoint Sudhakaran as KPCC president. He also said that he believed that the KPCC under Sudhakaran would be able to inspire the Congress workers who are disappointed with the party's poor performance in the assembly election.
