KSRTC is launching petrol and diesel pumps across the state to provide quality unadulterated petroleum products to the public and thereby increase revenue. It intends to start 67 pumps in association with Indian Oil Corporation.
The pumps will be started by adding a petrol unit in addition to the existing diesel pumps of KSRTC. This is expected to result in higher returns, including dealer commission and land rent. This will help KSRTC recover from the current crisis.
The first eight pumps in the project will be commissioned within 100 days and approval has been granted. Pumps will be started in Cherthala, Mavelikkara, Munnar, Guruvayur, Thrissur, Attingal, Nedumangad and Chathannur within 100 days.
Petrol pumps will be set up at Muvattupuzha, Angamaly, Kannur, Kozhikode and Perinthalmanna along with the existing diesel pumps. KSRTC has no financial obligation for this and the entire cost is borne by the Indian Oil Corporation.
