Heavy rains lash Kerala, showers to continue for three days

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: One house was completely destroyed and 25 houses were partially destroyed due to heavy rains in the state. Roads collapsed in many places. Trees fell and traffic was disrupted.

There are 603 people in 22 relief camps. Eight shutters of Pampa and Malankara dams were raised.

Coastal dwellers should be cautious. There is a possibility of winds of up to 55 kmph and thundershowers.

Yellow alert was declared in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam and Idukki districts today. Yellow alert for Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod on 16th and for Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod on 17th.
