Surendran has support of central leadership, says official section; BJP's protest against Kerala govt to begin today

KOCHI: Sources close to the official section of Kerala BJP stated that state president K Surendran has returned with the full support of the BJP central leadership during the talks in Delhi. However, another section of leaders claimed that the central leadership is considering measures including a change of leadership. When the differences escalated, Union Minister V Muraleedharan intervened and all the leaders of the group became active in party activities. This strengthened the official section.

Under the leadership of V Muraleedharan, leaders including Kummanam Rajasekharan visited the controversial land in Muttil and submitted a report to the Centre. Following Surendran's discussions with National President JP Nadda, General Secretary BL Santosh, and National General Secretary Arun Singh, an emergency meeting of state office bearers was convened and several agitations were planned. Surendran's group was relieved that the protest on the 10th took place in more places than scheduled.

Sobha Surendran too had taken part in the protest. The state leadership was also relieved when Dharmarajan filed an application in the court stating that the money robbed in Kodakara belonged to him. National President JP Nadda's post on Facebook is also an indication that there won't be any change of leadership in the state.

Meanwhile, BJP state core committee members will hold a dharna in Thiruvananthapuram today against the government for targetting the BJP leaders. A dharna will be organized in all the centers of the state tomorrow against the tree felling controversy.
