Appointment of state police chief: Thachankary out; Sudesh Kumar, B Sandhya and Anil Kant in the list

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Tomin Thachankary has been dropped from the shortlist of state police chief. The decision was taken at a committee meeting of the Union Public Service Commission today. Sudesh Kumar, B Sandhya, and Anil Kant are on the final list. Meanwhile, Arun Kumar Sinha has dropped himself from the list.

This is the first time that a panel has been submitted to the UPSC committee and one of the names given by them will be appointed as DGP in Kerala. Kerala has given the names of DGP and ADGP rank officers of the IPS batch from 1987 to 1991 who have completed 30 years of service.
