THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM leader Thomas Isaac said that the BJP is instigating riots in Tamil Nadu through its agenda of state partition. "Protests are raging across the state over the news that there is a move to divide the western part of Tamil Nadu and form Konganadu. The silence of the central government despite the protests is mysterious. Opinions rising for and against this move will ultimately shatter the peaceful social atmosphere prevailing in the country. This is the BJP's goal," he said on Facebook.
"To date, no attempt by the BJP to take root in Tamil Nadu has been successful. Even in alliance with the AIADMK, the BJP's strength in the state was only two per cent in the last election. The new attempt is to reap political benefits from the Tamil people's division on the pros and cons of Konganadu. The Left and the DMK have publicly rejected the move. The BJP's shortcut to gaining popular support through divisive politics will only destabilize the country", he added. Isaac says in a Facebook post that the fragmentation of language states sabotages the constitutional approach to the nation.
