Woman commits suicide by jumping into well, father who attempted to save her also dies

CHITTUR: A young woman, who jumped into the well, and her father, who tried to save her, died. The deceased has been identified as Kozhinjampara native Gayathri (27) and her father Dharmalingam (70). The incident took place at around 7.30 am on Friday.

It is learnt that Gayathri jumped into the well as she was depressed over her marriage proposals getting continuously dropped. Though Dharmalingam jumped into the well to save her, he too drowned in the water. Following this, the fire force reached the area and recovered the bodies of the two. The bodies were handed over to the relatives after Covid tests and postmortem at the district hospital.
