Man arrested for attempting to molest woman during train journey 

PALAKKAD: A man was arrested for attempting to molest a woman on an express train travelling from Chennai to Mangalore. The arrested has been identified as Kannur native Sumithran (52). He was arrested by the Palakkad Railway Protection Force. The incident took place yesterday morning.

The victim was a 28-year-old woman from Kozhikode who was sleeping in the reservation compartment. As per the complaint, the accused attempted to molest the woman before the train reached Palakkad railway junction. As soon as the train reached the Palakkad railway junction, the woman got off the train and lodged a complaint at the station. The accused was immediately arrested. He was produced in Chittur court and remanded.
