KOCHI: The High Court has decided on a petition filed against the draft laws of Lakshadweep. The court also rejected the demand that the draft be published in Malayalam. The public interest litigation was filed by island MP PP Mohammad Faisal, led by the Save Lakshadweep Forum, questioning the draft rules imposed by the island administration. The petition alleges that the draft laws were drafted without considering the views of the people of the island and following due process.

The court ruled that the people's grievances and concerns could be conveyed to the Union Ministry.
