Kerala administered vaccine doses to over 2.5 crore people, 2.71 lakh people vaccinated on Thursday

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A total of more than 2.5 crore people (2,55,20,478 doses) have been vaccinated in the state, including one and two doses, Health Minister Veena George said. Of these, 1,86,82,463 were given the first dose and 68,38,015 were given the second dose. According to the projected population of 3.54 crore in 2021, 52.69 per cent were given the first dose and 19.31 per cent the second dose. According to the population over the age of 18, 64.98 per cent were given the first dose and 23.82 per cent the second dose.


The state also received 5,79,390 doses of vaccine. 4,80,000 doses of Covishield vaccine and 99,390 doses of Covaxin was made available. Thiruvananthapuram received 1,63,000, Ernakulam got 1,88,000, Kozhikode receieved 1,29,000, doses of Covshield vaccine. Also, Thiruvananthapuram got 33,650 doses of Covaxin, with Ernakulam getting 26,610 and Kozhikode 39130 doses.


Today, 2,71,578 people were vaccinated as part of the state's vaccination drive. There were 1443 vaccination centers, including 1,108 government centers and 3345 private centers.
