Kerala records 32,803 COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, test positivity rate at 18.76; 173 deaths

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 30,203 COVID-19 cases on Wednesday. Among these, 31,380 persons developed the disease through contact, including 1161 cases without an identified source of infection. 154 persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 108 health workers contracted the disease on Wednesday.

21,610 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 2,29,912 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 173 deaths due to the virus on Wednesday with the toll rising to 20,961.

Thrissur 4425, Ernakulam 4324, Kozhikode 3251, Malappuram 3099, Kollam 2663, Thiruvananthapuram 2579, Palakkad 2309, Kottayam 2263, Alappuzha 1975, Kannur 1657, Pathanamthitta 1363, Wayanad 1151, Idukki 1130, Kasaragod 614.

1,74,854 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate stands at 18.76.
