THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Transport Minister Antony Raju is looking for new ways to increase non-ticket revenue to help KSRTC get out of debt. The move is to start liquor stores at KSRTC stands. The minister said that Bevco outlets will be opened at KSRTC bus stands in the state. He said that he has no objections to allocating vacant spaces in KSRTC bus stands to the Beverage corporation for this. The minister said this while speaking to a private channel.
Usually, rooms are allotted to the Bevco through the auction process.
The minister said that no one can stop the sale of liquor legally and all means will be taken to increase the non-ticket revenue of KSRTC. He said that special care would be taken to ensure that such outlets do not cause any inconvenience to passengers, especially women. He added that action will be taken to make sure that KSRTC employees do not misuse the facility.
