Search for medicos missing in Bharathapuzha will continue today

PALAKKAD: A search will continue Tuesday for the students who went missing in the Bharathapuzha river at Vaniyamkulam in Mannanur. Gautham Krishna (23) from Alappuzha and Mathew Abraham (23) from Chelakkara, final year MBBS students of a private medical college in Vaniyamkulam, got caught in the currents.

Help of the navy has been sought for the search. The National Disaster Management Force conducted a search in the areas from Mannanur to Cheruthuruthy last evening. Heavy rains hampered rescue operations.

A seven-member team including Gautham and Mathew reached Bharathapuzha. It is believed that one got caught in the currents while trying to save the other.
