One week quarantine special casual leave, quarantine not required if those on primary contact list recovers within three months, says govt order

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government has released an order making seven days Covid quarantine special casual leave for government, semi-government, public sector and self-employed employees. Those turning positive and employees on primary contact list should undergo the test after seven days including public days and if turned negative should report to office. The order said special casual leave will be permitted on the basis of a certificate from the health department or the local self-government department.

An employee who came in primary contract of a Covid patient and if recovers in three months then he need not go into quarantine. They should follow Covid instructions, should self-quarantine for symptoms, report to the office and if symptoms seen should seek treatment. Special casual leave will be granted for the entire period of treatment on the basis of hospital records to the employees who have sought treatment in the hospital due to the illness. The order said strict action will be taken against the employee who misuse this system.
