Results of Thiruvonam Bumper Lottery announced; ticket sold in Thrippunithura wins first prize

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The results of the Thiruvonam Bumper Lottery have been announced. Ticket number TE 645465 has won the first prize of Rs 12 crore. The draw was held at Gorky Bhavan in Thiruvananthapuram at 2 pm. The ticket sold in Thrippunithura won the first prize. The ticket was sold by Meenakshi Lotteries. Six people will get Rs 1 crore each as the second prize, while 12 people will get Rs 10 lakh each as the third prize. The first prize winner will get around Rs 7.5 crore after deducting agency commission and income tax.

Record ticket sales had taken place this year despite the Covid crisis. 54 lakh printed tickets were sold. 10 lakh more tickets were sold than last year. The lottery department earned Rs 126.57 crore from the sale of tickets. The profit was Rs 30.55 crore. Last year, the profit was Rs 23 crore.
