BJP councilors urge council to pass resolution to arrest tax-evading officials; cannot give instructions, says Mayor; reconcillation effort fails

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: With the reconciliation attempt called by the Mayor turning out to be a failure, BJP councilors in the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation have decided to continue with their strike till the tax-evading officials are arrested. The BJP councilors demanded that a resolution be passed at the council meeting to arrest the officials. However, Mayor Arya Rajendran refused to give instructions by stating that an investigation was going on. With this, the BJP decided to go ahead with the strike that has been going on at the Corporation Council Hall for the last six days.
