PALAKKAD: A Covid patient and his wife attending the CPM branch meet has courted a controversy. The Covid patient identified as Sreedharan of Thaneerpandal attended the branch meeting under the Kannadi local committee along with his wife Prasanna.

The branch meeting was held in the presence of district panchayat president Binumol after throwing Covid norms to the wind. Some of the representatives had opposed the Covid patient attending the meet. However, Binumol allowed him to attend the meet.

Covid was confirmed on Sreedharan on October 5. According to Covid norms, his family members who came in direct contact with him should go under observation. However, he and his wife violated this and attended the meeting. Sreedharan said that he was under observation since October 1 and attended the meet after ten days.
