THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Thursday said that efforts will be made to complete the trial in cases of violence against children within a maximum of 1 year. He also said that the government would seek High Court sanction to train those involved in making the trial more child-friendly. The CM was speaking at a meeting on legal protection and protection of victims of sexual assault.
"Vigilant intervention is essential against violence against children and women. Various programs are being conducted in this regard under the auspices of various departments. The programs will be coordinated under the Women and Child Welfare Department, Police, Public Education Department, Higher Education Department, Kudumbashree, KILA, Women's Commission and Women's Development Corporation. A comprehensive gender sensitization campaign will be launched together by these departments," the CM said.
