Two shutters of Mullaperiyar dam closed; water level rises in Idukki dam

IDUKKI: Two shutters of the Mullaperiyar Dam have been closed. Five shutters are presently opened. The shutters which were raised to 60 cm have now been lowered to 30 cm. Meantime, water level rises in the Idukki dam. The water level in the dam is presently 2400.24 feet.

The amount of water released from the Aliyar Dam has been reduced. Shutters were lowered to 12 cm. 2800 cubic feet of water is being released. Eleven shutters were opened yesterday morning. The rains have eased in Palakkad.
