THIRUVANTHAPURAM: The Lokayukta who asked where the educational qualifications of women’s commission member Shahida Kamal are asked them to produce it if her honesty has to be convinced. The court also asked how the Kazakhstan University knew about her women empowerment. The lawyer replied that she got the doctorate as per the recommendation of a representative of the university in Kerala. However, Shahida's lawyer did not produce any certificates proving her educational qualifications. The court then asked for the certificates. The court asked to produce the certificates when the case will be considered the next time.
She has been accused of giving false educational qualifications while contesting elections and while applying for a member of the women's commission. The complaint was lodged by Akhila Khan, a native of Vattapara. In her reply to the Lokayukta, Shahida Kamal said that she holds a degree, PG and doctorate in philosophy from the Kazakhstan Open University. However, the department of social justice stated that the doctorate is from the University of Vietnam under the Right to Information Act. The case will be considered again on December 9.
