Kerala records 4350 COVID-19 cases on Sunday, 28 deaths

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 4350 COVID-19 cases on Sunday. Among these, 4049 persons developed the disease through contact, including 272 cases without an identified source of infection. 11 persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 18 health workers contracted the disease on Sunday.

5691 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 47,001 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 19 deaths due to the virus on Sunday with the toll rising to 39,838.

District wise breakup of positive cases:
Ernakulam 823, Thiruvananthapuram 670, Kozhikode 554, Thrissur 434, Kottayam 319, Malappuram 253, Kannur 225, Kollam 200, Wayanad 167, Palakkad 166, Pathanamthitta 165, Idukki 164, Alappuzha 131, Kasaragod 79.

48,112 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
