Those opposing Savarkar should not forget that he was a revolutionary, says Governor Arif Mohammad Khan

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Governor Arif Mohammad Khan said that RSS ideologue Savarkar is a revolutionist. "Those opposing Savarkar should not forget that he was a revolutionary", the governor said. He said Savarkar's ideology was aimed at national development and the unity of the people of India. The governor also lauded Savarkar as a leader who had spoken out against untouchability even before Gandhiji. The Governor was releasing a book on Savarkar written by Information Commissioner Uday Mahurkar.

He also visited the parents of Mofiya Parveen, who had earlier committed suicide due to her husband's abuse. The governor said Mofiya's suicide was unfortunate and heartbreaking. He pointed out that girls should be courageous and fight against injustice and not commit suicide.
