Kerala records 4450 COVID-19 cases on Sunday, 23 deaths

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 4450 COVID-19 cases on Sunday. Among these, 4163 persons developed the disease through contact, including 226 cases without an identified source of infection. 26 persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 35 health workers contracted the disease on Sunday.

4606 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 43,454 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 23 deaths due to the virus on Sunday with the toll rising to 41,600.

District wise breakup of positive cases:

Thiruvananthapuram 791, Ernakulam 678, Kozhikode 523, Kottayam 484, Kollam 346, Thrissur 345, Kannur 246, Pathanamthitta 219, Idukki 193, Malappuram 158, Alappuzha 147, Palakkad 141, Wayanad 128 and Kasaragod 51.

57,722 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
