Quarantine only for those with symptoms, govt eases norms for foreign returnees

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: At the Covid review meeting, it was decided that those returnees from abroad and international travelers need to do Covid test only if they have any symptoms. Only those with symptoms need to enter quarantine.

The meeting also approved the recommendation of the Health Experts Committee to change the existing norm of conducting RTPCR examination on the eighth day after returning from a foreign trip. The CM said that tests, including rapid tests at the airport, should not be unfairly charged and expatriates should be charged at affordable rates. He directed the health department to take necessary action in this regard.
