KOCHI: Popular criminal lawyer advocate B Raman Pillai took up Dileep's case five years ago that is on August 4, 2017. He appeared instead of senior advocate K Ramkumar, on the bail plea of Dileep, jailed in the actress attack case. From then on, he was Dileep’s advocate including in the trial court. It was Pillai who appeared for Bishop Franco Mulakkal in the nun rape case. Franco was acquitted in the case recently. Pillai was the defence counsel in many notable criminal cases in Kerala. He was also a member of the 17-member panel appointed by the government to formulate lockdown proposals during the first Covid time.

Pillai on verdict
He succeeded in convincing the truth in the high court. The single bench granted anticipatory bail to Dileep after examining all the evidences and convinced that no charges existed. This is a case without any facts and a fabricated one. This is a story concocted by a former investigating officer and others. Their aim was to arrest the accused in the case. The high court itself said the case will not prima facie exist.
