KOZHIKODE: Kannur CCF K Vinod Kumar, the officer who made crucial findings in the Muttil tree felling case, has been transferred to Kollam as Social Forestry Conservator. This is a trivial post. But the officer facing investigation for his alleged conspiracy against the officers probing the tree felling case received a promotion. NT Sajan, who allegedly hatched a conspiracy for the accused, has been appointed as the head of the Southern Forest Circle.

Earlier, an order was issued to give a higher post to the officer accused of aiding a Rs 15 crore rosewood loot at Wayanad's Muttil village. It is learned that some officials have decided to approach the Central Administrative Tribunal against this. The transfer of IFS officers before the age of two years should be decided by the Civil Service Board after hearing the views of the officers but now the officers have been transferred without any such action. Vinod Kumar's new post will be below the current post of NT Sajan.
