RSS behind Love Jihad campaign, marriage should have been discussed with families’, CPM rejects George M Thomas

KOZHIKODE: CPM district secretary P Mohanan came forward responding on the love marriage between a Christian woman and a Muslim CPM leader. He said the marriage is not love jihad and it should have been discussed with the families.

George M Thomas made a mistake in this matter. It can be considered as a slip of his tongue. The RSS is behind the love jihad campaign. There were attempts to divide the communities. The party will not approve this and will resist such attempts. The elope of DYFI leader could have been avoided, added Mohanan.

CPM local committee member and DYFI regional secretary Shejin from Kodancherry Nooramthodu and Jyotsana Mary Joseph, a nurse in Saudi Arabia and hailing from Theyyapara had eloped and got married. After love jihad allegations surfaced, the woman said she got married on her own will. However, CPM Kozhikode district secretariat member George M Thomas criticized Shejin's act.
