In fact, if left untreated, it can lead to AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome). The virus can be transmitted by contact with infected blood, semen or vaginal secretions. Within a few weeks of being infected with HIV, you may experience symptoms such as fever, sore throat, and fatigue. Symptoms of AIDS include weight loss, fever or night sweats, fatigue, and recurrent infections. Satish Kaul, director of Internal medicine at the Fortis Memorial Research Institute in Gurugram, said there was no cure for HIV and that it could be managed with proper medical care.
