Power cut turns villain; bride marries sister’s groom in a mix-up

wedding

BHOPAL: No one would have expected that a father’s wish to marry off both his daughters at the same wedding site could create such problems. In a bizarre incident, two brides married the wrong grooms after a mix-up due to a power cut. The incident took place in Madhya Pradesh’s Ujjain on Sunday. The brides have been identified as Nikita and Karishma, daughters of Rameshlal.

The brides, whose weddings were to be held at the same time (muhurtham), were in veils and were wearing the same dress. However, they accidently married the wrong grooms during the power failure. The mistake was realized only after the couple arrived at the groom's residence after the rituals. Following which, a small dispute erupted amongst the family members. The issue was settled after the brides and grooms were asked to perform the rituals with their right partners, the next day.
