Kidnapped and beaten for defeating in tug-of-war; allegation against Shaibin for involvement in the death of Wayanad youth

KALLARA: Another allegation against Shaibin Ashraf, the main accused in the murder of a traditional healer in Nilambur. Relatives have blamed Shaibin for the mysterious death of Deepesh, a native of Sultan Bathery. The family wants an inquiry into Deepesh's death as Shaibin's role in the healer's murder case has come to light.

Two years ago, Deepesh was found dead in a pond on a farm in Kutta, Karnataka,. Eight years ago, Deepesh and his team defeated a team sponsored by Shaibin in a tug-of-war in Bathery. In retaliation, Deepesh was abducted and beaten by Shaibin's quotation team. Deepesh was beaten up at his house which was under construction at Puthenkunnu. He was later abandoned at a coffee plantation in Kolagapara. Deepesh's mother had lodged a complaint with the police but no significant investigation happened. The family alleges that Shaibin paid bribe to the police and settled everything, thus ending the investigation.
