Train traffic on Kottayam route to be restricted on Sunday; 14 trains cancelled

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Train traffic on the Kottayam route will be restricted tomorrow in connection with the track-doubling works from Ettumanoor to Kottayam Chingavanam. Fourteen trains were completely cancelled and six trains were partially cancelled. Ten trains will be diverted via Alappuzha.

The cancelled trains are Chennai Mail to Thiruvananthapuram, Thiruvananthapuram Mail to Chennai, Jan Shatabdi to Kannur, Venad to Shoranur, Venad to Thiruvananthapuram, Guruvayur Express, Punalur Express from Guruvayur, Ernakulam-Alappuzha Passenger Express, Alappuzha-Ernakulam Express, Kollam - Ernakulam Memu, Ernakulam - Kollam Memu, Ernakulam - Kayamkulam Passenger, Kayamkulam - Ernakulam Passenger and Kottayam - Kollam Passenger. Sabari to Thiruvananthapuram will end its service at Thrissur and conduct a return service. The Parasuram to Mangalore will start service from Shoranur. Nilambur Express to Kottayam will end service at Ernakulam Town. It will then conduct return service from there. Nagercoil - Kottayam Express will end service at Kollam.

Trains such as Silchar Express to Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala Express, Kanyakumari Island, Kochuveli Lokmanya Tilak, Delhi Kerala Express, Kanyakumari Express to Pune, Nagercoil Parasuram, Lokmanya Tilak Garib Rath from Kochuveli will be diverted via Alappuzha.
