'Verdict is already written, only matter of time before it is announced': Bhagyalakshmi criticizes trial court in actress assault case

KOCHI: Dubbing artiste Bhagyalakshmi on Wednesday sharply criticized the trial court in connection with the actress assault case. She alleged that what was happening in the case is a drama. "Verdict has already been written, and it is only a matter of time before it is announced. The Supreme Court is not asking why the prosecutors are changing. The justice for the top brass and the common man is different", she said.

The assault survivor, meanwhile, told the high court that she has fears the footage would be leaked. She also requested the court to extend the time to complete the investigation. The court has reserved its verdict on the petition. But actor Dileep has requested the court not to extend the time for investigation.

"The crime branch could not find any evidence against me. Attempts are being made to discredit judicial officials and prosecute lawyers. Any subversion can be done in the FSL lab report", Dileep told the court.

The High Court had also rejected the survivor's demand that Justice Kauser Edappagath withdraw from the case. The actress had asked Justice Kauser Edappagth to withdraw from considering the Crime Branch's plea to extend the time for investigation. The court will hear the survivor's plea on June 10 that the reinvestigation is being subverted.
