No need to worry about new variants of Covid, says Health Minister Veena George

ALAPPUZHA: Health Minister Veena George said that there will be new variants of Covid and people should not be worried about this. The Minister was inaugurating the public meeting held as part of state conference of the Medical Laboratory Owners Association in Alappuzha. At an international seminar attended by virologists a few months ago, the general opinion was that the new Covid variants will come up. The situation is being closely monitored. New variants and viruses are not dangerous. People should expect a new variant of corona virus. She said that climate change was the main reason for the emergence of new viruses.
