'Kaduva' is in controversy followed by 'Ottakkomban', alleges stealing of story; court sends notice to Supriya, fans worried whether it might affect the release

'Kaduva' is an action-thriller movie directed by Shaji Kailas starring Prithviraj in the lead role. The movie is set to release on June 30. Vivek Oberoi, Samyuktha Menon, Siddique, Vijayaraghavan, Sudhev Nair, Seema, Arjun Ashokan, Kalabhavan Shajon, Aju Varghese, Sai Kumar, Dileesh Pothan, Rahul Madhav, Janardhanan, Priyanka Nair and Meenakshi are the other actors in the cast.

The film is produced by Listin Stephen and Prithviraj Productions under the banner of Magic Frames. Jinu V Abraham is the screenwriter. Cinematography by Abhinand Ramanujan and music by Jacques Bijoy.

Now, after announcing the release date, a Tamil Nadu native has filed a petition in the court alleging that his story was stolen. The High Court has accepted the petition.

The court also issued notice to writer Jinu Varghese Abraham and producer Supriya Menon. The action was taken by Justice CS Dias on a petition filed by Mahesh M, a native of Tamil Nadu.

He had approached the High Court after his application for interim order filed in the Pala Sub-Court was not considered. Fans are worried that this action will affect the release of the film.

Earlier, the court had banned Suresh Gopi's film 'Ottakkomban' for its similarity in story. The action was taken on a petition filed by Jinu Abraham, the screenwriter of Prithviraj's film 'Kaduva' alleging that his film bears a striking resemblance with 'Ottakomban' film.

Jinu filed the petition in court under the Copyright Infringement Act. This is Suresh Gopi's 250th film. Both the films tell the story of Kaduvakkunnel Kuruvachan.
