NEW DELHI: NDA candidate Draupadi Murmu is confident of entering the presidential election with the support of various parties, including the Opposition parties. But Yashwant Sinha, the opposition candidate, is not far behind in the election either. As part of the campaign, Yashwant Sinha called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh to seek their support.
Sinha also met senior BJP leader and his former colleague LK Advani. He also sought the support of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha leader and Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren. The JMM and former PM HD Deve Gowda's Janata Dal (Secular) had said they would support Draupadi Murmu. The NCP leaders said that they had started a strong campaign and would seek everyone's support.
After submitting his nomination papers on Monday, Yashwant Sinha said that he would visit the state capitals and seek the support of leaders of various parties. He assured other parties that if he wins, he would uphold the values of the Indian Constitution.
