Revelations in gold smuggling case: Swapna Suresh moves High court again for anticipatory bail

KOCHI: Swapna Sureah has has again filed an anticipatory bail application in the High Court citing that non-bailable offences have been charged in the case registered against her following her revelations against CM in gold smuggling case. Apart from the involvement of CM and his family, Swapna also revealed to the media that former Minister KT Jaleel, Speaker Sreeramakrishnan, IAS officers Nalini Neto and Sivashankar were also involved. The case was registered based on KT Jaleel's complaint alleging that Swapna was trying to defame CM, under the charges of conspiracy and inciting to riot.

The court had earlier terminated the proceeding of Swapna's anticipatory bail stating that charges were bailable. Swapna again filed an anticipatory bail application stating that additional non-bailable offences which includes making fake documents, forgery and statement conducting to public mischief have been charged against her. Swapna also states in the plea that she came to know about this non-bailable charges through the notice issued by Assistant commissioner, Ernakulam to appear in the case on Monday at 11 am.
