Woman killed in elephant attack in Palakkad

PALAKKAD: A woman was killed in an elephant attack in Attappadi. The dead has been identified as Malleeswari of Kavundikkal Plamaram. The incident happened Thursday early morning at 2.30 am. The elephant attacked her when she came out of her house after hearing a noise.

Though she was taken to the hospital by the locals and relatives, her life could not be saved. The body is kept in the mortuary of Agali Hospital and after the post mortem will be handed over to her relatives.

Kavundikkal is an area adjacent to the forest. A wild elephant was seen in the area the other day. The forest guards had sent it back to the forest.
