4,200 lottery tickets worth Rs 1.36 lakh stolen from KSRTC bus, lottery thieves held

THENMALA: Two people were arrested in the incident of stealing lottery tickets sent for an agency. Sudheesh, a native of Aryankav Poonthottam and Sajimon, a native of Kulathupuzha Marthandankara, were the two arrested. They stole 4,200 lottery tickets worth Rs 1.36 lakh.

The incident happened on Tuesday night. Lottery tickets sent via KSRTC bus from Kozhenchery to Bharani Lucky Centre in Aryankav, were found stolen. The tickets brought in bus are usually exchanged to the lottery agency by the employees.

When the bus stopped in front of the lottery shop on Tuesday, a man came and collected the tickets. However, the agency did not get it. In a search conducted, it was found that the tickets have been stolen. The agency soon lodged a complaint with the Thenmala police.

In an examination conducted via the CCTV visuals, it was identified that it was Sudheesh, who trafficked the tickets. The role of Sajimon was proved when questioned him. The lottery tickets stolen have also been found. The stolen tickets were drawn on Thursday and Friday. The lottery agency stated that these tickets got a prize of Rs 40,000.
